Class C Technician

This classification of employee shall be able to perform basic telecommunications installation, maintenance and troubleshooting under the general supervision of a class B and or A Technician.

The tasks include:

• Installing all types of communications cables, i.e. twisted pair copper cables, fiber optic cables and coaxial cables
• Terminating the aforementioned types of copper cables on all standard types of termination hardware i.e. copper termination types 110 type, 66 type, krone, BIX
• Installation of copper and fiber patch cords and cross connects, as per predetermined schedules and work orders
• Assist with the installation of ladder rack, communications raceway systems, equipment racks, back boards, back boxes, termination hardware, cross connect fields, etc.
• Assist with the installation of active network equipment

General Qualifications:

• All employees should be able to occasionally lift and or manipulate up to 100 pounds, and be able to lift and or manipulate up to 60 pounds on a regular basis. They should also be able to stand, sit or stoop for extended periods of time as well as climb and or work from ladders, scaffolds, etc on a regular basis
• Must have good manual dexterity to work with all types of tools
• Must possess ability to follow directions and provide directions to subordinates as necessary
• Must possess satisfactory communication skills both oral and written to communicate professionally with customers, management and coworkers
• Must represent themselves as well as company in professional manner at all times, this includes maintaining proper dress code, refraining from foul or vulgar language and acting in any manner which could be considered disrespectful at all times
